Nuevas Sonrisas: Mobile dental clinic

We turn a community space into a fully functioning dental clinic, and within hours our providers are ready to treat a steady stream of school children. Over the years, we have designed, built, and procured equipment needed to keep 12 dental workstations operating during our work week.

The pediatric chairs and storage shelves were designed and built by a team member in the U.S. from off-the-shelf parts.  They’re stored in Catocha between visits.

The dental supplies required to treat more than 3,000 children are generously donated by individuals, U.S. dental practices, and organizations.  We have been fortunate to receive several generous grants that help in purchasing portable dental units and other equipment and supplies.
